Overview

For more than two decades, Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania (Magellan) has been managing behavioral health services for HealthChoices members. Since 2009, Magellan has had an integrative health focus in coordination with community navigators and Wellness Recovery Teams. Magellan works closely with its customers–Bucks, Cambria, Lehigh, Montgomery, and Northampton counties; individuals; providers; and local communities. We are proud of the innovative efforts that have helped to increase access to care, improve service use rates, expand the continuum of services in alignment with evidence-based models, and maximize clinical appropriateness and quality services.

Our Mission Statement

Magellan Behavioral Health of Pennsylvania is committed to ensuring the delivery of high-quality behavioral health care to help individuals and families achieve their goals. We partner with local counties, providers, members, families and other stakeholders to ensure a system of care based on innovation, clinical excellence and a philosophy of wellness that focuses on discovering personal strengths, building hope and offering choices. Magellan Health Insights

The Magellan Health Insights blog is a resource for both members and providers. The website features information, resources, and trends in health care. The blog features the voices of Magellan’s clinical experts and business leaders. Advanced clinical models, data-driven population insights, and technology-enabled solutions help improve members’ experiences while helping people live healthier, more vibrant lives.

Magellan Cares Foundation

The Magellan Cares Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, focuses on efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and related social supports. The foundation supports programs and initiatives in four areas: national or large-scale health access and quality improvement initiatives; efforts that help to improve the social supports around a quality healthcare system, such as access to housing, food, clothing, or self-improvement opportunities; local efforts, including legacy initiatives supported by Magellan Health’s employees and; efforts to support America’s military service members, veterans, and wounded warriors.
